The reunion was a great experience. There were probably 125-130 people who attended. Those unable to attend were sorely missed. Many fond memories were shared as little clusters of former companions and friends gathered to reflect on good times. There was a table with yummy German goodies. President and Sister Wirthlin offered brief addresses that reminded us of why we served. Andrea (Brown) Motto also offered a few words that reminded us of why we're willing to reunite to rekindle old friendships. Darren Schmitt put together a fabulous slideshow that was projected on multiple screens in the large room at the LDS Business College. Many contributed to the success of the evening; thank you to all who helped put it together and to all who came and enjoyed the wonderful evening. Special thanks to Ernest Lehenbauer and Stephanie (Wilkinson) Freeman whose photography allows those unable to attend to experience the reunion, too. In my own mission photos, I found the picture of President Vikari and President Wirthlin; to be honest, I don't know whether I took it or someone else, but it seemed to fit well here. They are two great men who offered invaluable counsel on such things as how to teach, serve, lead, worship, and work hard; our appreciation for them runs deep. Thank you President Vikari and President Wirthlin for your service, and thank you Sister Vikari and Sister Wirthlin for your service! It would be a very big project to try to track down the names of everyone who attended the reunion and to identify everyone in the photographs, so you're on your own in that endeavor! As a final note, PLEASE make sure you keep your information updated on www.mission.net so that you can be contacted about future reunions. |
